MEET THE TEAM
Overachieve Sports and Speed was founded by Brian Henesey in the Spring of 2010. Brian’s background is a real life “Rudy” story- when he graduated Bucknell University he was the school’s all-time leading rusher. But NFL scouts dismissed him as being the typical small school running back, too small and too slow. Instead of giving up on his dream to play in the NFL, he continued to work and got faster, stronger, and more explosive and chased after that dream and played with both the Arizona Cardinals and the Philadelphia Eagles! You can learn more about Brian’s journey to the NFL HERE.
After years of experience working with some of the top strength and conditioning coaches in the field, Brian found what training methods and exercises that helped maximize his potential, and is the backbone to the Overachieve training program. Alongside those training principles, we continue to research and modify our programs to give your athletes the best training experience possible!
ABOUT OVERACHIEVE
Owner, Head Speed and Strength Coach
Jack Murphy, BS, CSCS
Coach Jack started working at Overachieve as an intern during the Summer of 2017 while at Temple University. He continued to work at Overachieve after the internship and received his BS in Kinesiology with a concentration in Exercise and Sports Science in of 2017. In November of 2018, he got his CSCS through the NSCA.
Growing up, Jack played baseball and football, and had hopes of playing baseball in college. But several injuries throughout his career kept him from playing past his junior year of high school. He knew he wanted to stay involved in athletics, which lead him to Exercise and Sports Science. From his experiences as an athlete, Coach Jack wanted to make sure athletes did whatever they could to stay healthy, reduce the risk of injury, and play at their greatest potential.
After 6+ years of working as an intern, to part-time, to full-time coach at Overachieve, Coach Jack took ownership of the gym in January 2023. He vowed to continue giving athletes the best opportunity to learn, develop, and play the sports they love for as long as they can at the highest level. From what he has learned from previous experiences, Brian Henesey and other coaches and mentors in the area, as well as continuing research and education, Coach Jack has taken hundreds of athletes to the collegiate level and over a dozen athletes to the professional level of their game!
Outside of the gym, Coach Jack, his wife Hannah, and their son Easton spend time with friends and family. They love to be outdoors- hiking, fishing, traveling, and going to their nieces and nephew’s sports activities. Coach Jack is die-hard Philadelphia sports fan through and through.
